Thankful Thursday

22 Apr

It’s been a good week. Here’s the list!

-I’m thankful that tomorrow is Friday. It means I get to see my husband for the first time in a few weeks.

-I’m thankful for my husband. I’m blessed to have a man who loves me this much, even though sometimes he drives me bonkers!

-I’m very thankful for the Denver Broncos. TIM TEBOW deserved to be first round!

-I’m so very thankful for my Momma. I love having clean laundry and a large part of my house already packed.

-I’m thankful for Scott. I’m glad that we have someone who we can count on no matter what. He has helped us move EVERY time!

-Thank you Dr. Kyle for the antibiotic review. I learned more in that (extremely long) review session than I did in 3 semesters.

-Thank you Lanae for keeping me updated on the draft picks while I was away from a TV. TRUE FRIEND RIGHT THERE!

Thank You Thursday – Tax Day

15 Apr

I missed this last week, so I am thankful that I have the chance to do one this week… Even though I REALLY should be studying.

I am so thankful that it’s Thursday and this EXTREMELY STRESSFUL WEEK is almost over.

  • This week I am mostly thankful for food. Especially:
    • Chips and Cheese Dip
    • Shiraz
    • Double-Stuffed Oreos (Thanks Dr. Wensel… I don’t even remember why you brought them up in class yesterday but I have been dreaming about them constantly… and purchased some today at the store.)
    • Big ol’ baked potatoes smothered in chili, cheese, and sour cream. Pretty sure this is what the Bible was talking about when it mentions manna from the heavens. I have learned that it is brain food, and I know for a fact that this combination has played a role in my successful (near) completion of pharmacy school.
    • COFFEE! Especially my Hazelnut flavored coffee that I bring out for special occasions… like Therapeutics tests.
    • Turkey – courtesy of Mr. GWH.

I am so very thankful for my amazing friends at pharmacy school. It hit me yesterday that these amazing women who have impacted my life so much over the last 2 and ½ years are going to be heading their separate ways in a few short weeks. I’m gonna have to blog about that later.

I am also thankful for my wonderful friends who are waiting patiently on me back in East Tennessee. We have so much to catch up on… and so much cheese dip to eat… and so much wine to drink… and so much FUN to have… to make up for these 3 loooong years in Alabama.

I am thankful that I passed “the test” and was able to successfully walk by Dr. Dumb@$$ without pushing him down the stairs. I am also thankful for my friends who realize what a huge accomplishment this was and also how freakin’ hilarious this was!

I am as always MOST THANKFUL for an AMAZING GOD

While I appreciate all that you have done for me in pharmacy school… as I near completion of my third year… I will NEVER forget how you got me through my P-2 year. I now fully understand the verse “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

I also thank God for keeping my husband safe as he drives from AL to TN and back on an almost weekly basis these days.

And now I must really study for this blasted Therapeutics Test!

Thank you to the nice lady that rang me up at the grocery store on Monday. I appreciate that you did not comment or laugh at the fact that I bought a week’s worth of lean cuisines… and a large box of those chocolate cupcakes with the crème filling. Not everyone is as tactful as you.

Thank you to my sister and my sister-in-law. For everything. Y’all are amazing women… and I am so blessed to have you both in my life.

Thank you to our amazing God. Not only did you know me before I was born, but you had already made my perfect match in this world. Thank you for making Jared just for me. He has gone above and beyond normal husband duties this week.

Thank you for the beautiful weather we have had this week. There is nothing as relaxing as sitting under a shade tree with some of your favorite people and eating lunch on a beautiful day.

Thank you CVS for being open on Easter Sunday… regular business hours… how rude!

Thank you tech people at Samford for forgetting to set up the printer on that 1 computer in the lab. I can’t afford to pay for printing and I would have used most of my free pages today if it weren’t for the secret computer.

Thank you for puppies, and box wine, and milkshakes, and “the Oregon trail” game on my phone… which are all necessities for passing pharmacy school.

That’s my list for the week.

Be sure to go to Our Imperfect Life… who started this wonderful weekly habit.

It’s that day again. The day when I say thank you for some of the things that have happened this week. I have a long list this week so bear with me.

Thank you wonderful Therapeutics teachers for giving us a test – up the backside with no lubricant. Next test I will bring a coin to help me choose answers (since I can’t seem to make a 50 on my own) and my own personal tube of KY.

Thank you Research Elective teachers for giving us a chance to retake our test tomorrow… as a group.. with you telling us the answers you expected us to have written down last week.

Thank you to my fabulous sister-in-law for loving to paint. The house looks amazing! Thank you sister-in-law’s boyfriend for the drywall knockdown. I knew I would like it, but I never expected that it would be so awesome. Thank you to my husband for not divorcing me when I painted the office lime green. I know you hate it. Thanks for loving me so much.

Thank you to my dogs for keeping me warm and safe at night when the Dad is gone.

Thank you TN representatives for voting NO across the board on the healthcare debate. I knew I shouldn’t have expected the same intelligence from the Alabama representatives. On that note, thank you to the 212 that actually listen to the people they represent.

Thank you mom for the gift-certificate you gave  me last year. I waited a long time to use it, but this was the perfect week for a free manicure and pedicure. I love you!

Thank you to all the people who prayed for Jared and my brother this week while they dealt with the deaths of close family members.

Thank you God for creating shrimp… they are so delicious (and so few calories) and make me happy. And thank you for a good crop of grapes last year. I have tried my best to keep the wine industry going during the recession.

I’d say that’s a pretty good list for this week. What are some things you are thankful for?

Thank You Thursday – The Original

11 Mar

This is a time to say honest “Thank You”s for the past week… even though some of them may be sarcastic. I am copying this idea from a great site. You can get to it by clicking on the button.

Thank you to my wonderful friends who struggle daily with me through pharmacy school. Your laughter makes the long days of sitting in a windowless classroom much more bearable.

Thank you to my amazing parents. For everything.

Thank you Mountain Brook CVS for firing me. I had a great time at work last night here at the CVS in Center Point. I don’t miss you even a little bit.

Thank you God for letting me have a peaceful night’s sleep. No nightmares for the first time in about 2 weeks. It was great! I feel so much better today! Thank You Again.

Thank you Taco Bell for screwing up my order… twice. I was really tired after a long day of work, and I’m glad I was able to make it all the way home to my starving husband before realizing you had left out his entire half of the order. Then, after driving all the way back and standing at the counter (feeling very uncomfortable because it’s not the best part of town to be in after dark) waiting for you to remake his food… you give it to me wrong. We asked for chicken, not your grade-D beef. Thanks! While I do thank you for your 5-in-a-row 100 health scores… some customer service would be great!

Thank you to my kick-a$$ washing machine and clothes dryer.  You are older than me and still kickin’ it. You amaze me with your ability to handle loads too big for most commercial washers. You are awesome. And I especially appreciate the fact that you are so easy to work on and that you have inexpensive replacement parts. I will never give you away on craigslist.org!

Thank you Mr./Mrs. 6 o’ clock person. You know who you are. When the pharmacy closes at 6. It means we walk out the door at 6. Unfortunately, we would be fired for turning you away. So keep on walking in after the gate is already closed and locked. I am more than happy to have you slide your Viagra prescription under the gate so I can fill it and have you slide your money under aforementioned closed and locked gate so that you can have a great evening. At this point, I will be coming home 30 minutes late and my husband will be mad at me because the wonderful dinner he cooked me is cold… and he drank the whole bottle of wine by himself. Thank you Mr./Mrs. 6 o’clock person. I didn’t really want to hang out with my family anyways.

Thank you CVS in Maryville for putting up with my gypsy lifestyle. I show up in town and expect work… and end up getting free dinner from a drug company. You guys have been a wonderful part of my life!

Most importantly, Thank you to the intelligent woman (i know it was a woman) who decided all those years ago to take out her anger (i’m sure her husband did something stupid) on a basket full of grapes. Wine has been the best part of my week! 🙂

Hope everyone had a great week! Next post coming to you from Friendsville, TN! 🙂
