Making My Comeback!

8 Jun

I am so sorry to leave you hanging for the past few weeks. Things have been so crazy around here. I started rotations last week and things are going really well so far. I love being a pharmacist. I just really hope I can get a job next year.

I think the best way to update you on recent happenings is with a few pictures from the past couple of weeks. They were all taken with my phone so I apologize for the poor quality.

This is the box truck that I unloaded all by myself because Jared was working. I had actually removed a lot already at this point because I had to grab all the stuff that could possibly fall out and crush me before I felt safe enough to take a picture.

This leads us to my new hair cut. I honestly picked out a picture of “Posh Spice” in a magazine. My wonderful hairdresser thought it was a great look for me. I really love it and I think I look somewhat grown-up… which is what I was going for. I still can’t believe I wanted to look like a Spice Girl though.

I had a few wonderful hours of entertainment when I put plastic boots on my dogs. I have mentioned in a previous post that the sound of their little claws clicking on the newly finished hardwood floors annoys me in many ways. My Mom-in-law bought these cute boots in Alaska. They are for sled dogs. (Actually¬† they are a cheap plastic version of sled dog boots.. Anyways..) The dogs hated them and walked around with their butts sticking up in the air and their legs stuck out to the sides. They were not pleased. Jared and I stood on opposite ends of the house and called them. They were sliding everywhere. I laughed so hard I cried. It was much-needed comic relief. This picture is my puppy right after placing the torture devices on her feet. The pitiful look almost changed my mind about the whole thing… but I’m glad I suffered through her sadness for my own selfish desire to laugh.

The last few days have been a little rough. There are some reasons to NOT move back to a super small town. Those pesky people who seem to interfere with your life because they are not nice people… and don’t enjoy their own miserable marriage so they try to make yours even worse so they feel better about their horrible, small, insignificant life. And of course, it’s always girls that do this. In honor of this particular B***H, I went to the store and bought a bottle of wine that I thought fit her perfectly.

Then I sat on the couch with my wonderful husband and drank my wine and enjoyed a fabulous evening. We discussed our marriage (the good and the bad parts) and how God really did make us for each other. We have decided to be more committed to having date nights (just the 2 of us) weekly and also we are now determined to find a church that is right for “US”. It’s weird learning to live with my husband again. (Note to self.. blog more about my ability to be a hermit later.) It was great (and admittedly difficult at times) to sit down with him and discuss what we love about being together and the things we both need to work on. I still am amazed at how hard this marriage thing truly is.

Anyways… after some really great times and some really rough times in the past few weeks… I am honestly doing pretty good. I love my career. I love Tennessee. I ADORE my husband. (Did I mention he bought me a bottle of tequila yesterday? He said he went to buy me roses but thought I would enjoy some margaritas more. Bless him!)

But I still hate unpacking. I just walked into the living room for this last picture. This is the state of my living room right now. I really wish I could find the boxes that contain pictures and other decorative items. The walls are looking really bland. (I will not comment on the boxes. Besides, you can’t see most of them because they are hidden beside the couch and behind the chair.)

I promise (to try) to update you on things more often.
